OUGD401//Manifesto

Before i actually start this brief and start to do any sort of designing for it, i thought i would research into what publishing actually means and what a manifesto is. This is to hopefully try and get my head around the subject more and create a better outcome from this

Publishing:

Traditionally publishing refers to the distribution of printed works such as books and newspapers. With the creation of the internet and digital information systems, the scope of publishing expanded.
The use of electronic resources:
      - electronic books/periodicals
      - micropublishing
      - websites
      - blogs
      - video games.
Stages involved in publishing are:
      - Development/acquisition/ copyediting/graphic design/production

What is a publication?
"To publish is to make content available to the public"
Publication – the act of publishing and also refers to any copies.
Publishing covers many different areas the main are:

Text/images/audio-visual content on any medium.
Electronic publising – websites/e-books/compact discs/mp3’s


Types of publications:
Written publications:
-Research reports
-Conference papers
-Magazines & Newspaper article
-Journal article
-Book
-Encyclopedia

Online publications:
-Blogs
-Forums
-E-books
-Personal website
-Corporate & Government websites
-Tutorials

What is a manifesto:
A manifesto is a public declaration of principles and intentions, often political in nature. Manifestos relating to religious belief are generally referred to as creeds. Manifestos may also be life stance-related.
